Offer in Compromise Help in Nampa, Idaho
Owe the IRS more than you can ever pay? An Offer in Compromise may let you settle for less. I help clients in Idaho and across the country, one-on-one, by phone.
Kathleen only submits an offer if you qualify.
What is an Offer in Compromise?
An Offer in Compromise is an agreement with the IRS to settle your tax debt for less than the full amount you owe. The IRS looks at what you can realistically pay, based on your income, your expenses and what you own. If that is less than what you owe, an offer may be a fit.
Who may qualify
- You can’t pay your full tax debt, now or over time.
- Your income and assets add up to less than what you owe.
- You’re facing a real hardship, like a disability or a big drop in income.
Every case is different. The only way to know is to look at your numbers, and that’s what I do on our first call.
What I do for you
- Review your IRS transcripts (with your signed Form 8821) so we know exactly what you owe and which years are open.
- Figure out what the IRS may accept based on your situation.
- Prepare your offer package and mail it to the IRS.
- Negotiate, argue and fight for you with the IRS.
An offer can be paid as a lump sum or in monthly payments. Which one fits depends on your situation, so call me and we’ll go over it together.

Offer in Compromise questions
Do I qualify for an Offer in Compromise?
It depends on your income, your expenses and what you own compared to what you owe. If you can't pay the full balance, an offer may be worth a look. Call me and I'll review your situation and tell you honestly whether an offer makes sense or another option fits better. I only submit an offer if you qualify.
Can I make payments on my offer?
Yes. The IRS allows an offer to be paid in one lump sum or in monthly payments. Call me and we'll talk about which one fits your situation.
Do I need an attorney?
Most people don't need an attorney. You may need one if your case involves fraud or is headed to court.
Are you a CPA?
No, and it isn't necessary. We don't argue tax law. We negotiate your tax debt with the IRS and get your returns filed so you're back in good standing.
What if the IRS says no?
Not every offer is accepted, and the IRS makes the final call. If an offer isn't accepted, there are often other options, like a payment plan or a hardship status. I'll walk you through what's next so you're not left on your own.
